According to customs statistics, from January to August this year, the total value of Yichang's foreign trade imports and exports was 26.98 billion yuan (the same below), an increase of 33.1% over the same period last year (year-on-year, the same below), 9.2 percentage points higher than the province. Among them, exports were 23.74 billion yuan, an increase of 28%, and imports were 3.24 billion yuan, an increase of 86.9%.
In August, the total import and export value of Yichang's foreign trade was 4.85 billion yuan, and the monthly import and export value reached a record high, an increase of 7.1%. Among them, exports were 4.48 billion yuan and imports were 370 million yuan.
General trade dominates. From January to August, the import and export of Yichang City through general trade was 21.22 billion yuan, an increase of 21.4%, accounting for 78.6% of the city's total import and export value (the same below) during the same period; the import and export of bonded logistics was 2.44 billion yuan, an increase of 313.8%. Accounting for 9%; import and export by means of processing trade 1.6 billion yuan, accounting for 5.9%.
Private enterprises are the main force of import and export. From January to August, the import and export of private enterprises in Yichang was 16.21 billion yuan, an increase of 19.3%, accounting for 60.1%; the import and export of state-owned enterprises was 5.62 billion yuan, an increase of 47%; the import and export of foreign-invested enterprises was 5.15 billion yuan, an increase of 80%.
The import and export value of the top three trading partners all achieved growth. From January to August, Yichang's imports and exports to ASEAN, Brazil and India, the top three trading partners, were 4.14 billion yuan, 3.44 billion yuan and 3.36 billion yuan, up 56%, 258.7% and 167.9% respectively. During the same period, the import and export to countries along the “Belt and Road” reached 10.97 billion yuan, an increase of 43.5%, accounting for 40.6%. The import and export to RCEP member countries was 7.3 billion yuan, an increase of 37.7%, accounting for 27%. In addition, the economic and trade cooperation between Yichang City and emerging markets has continued to deepen, with import and export of 4.7 billion yuan and 1.23 billion yuan to Latin America and Africa, an increase of 101.9% and 76.2% respectively.
Exports of basic organic chemicals have grown exponentially. From January to August, Yichang City exported 3.72 billion yuan of basic organic chemicals, an increase of 143%, accounting for 15.7% of the city's total export value; 3.59 billion yuan of high-tech products were exported, an increase of 86.6%. In addition, the exports of Agricultural Products, textiles and garments and steel have also grown rapidly, with exports of 1.61 billion yuan, 1.03 billion yuan, and 540 million yuan, up 11%, 35.2%, and 194.4% respectively.
Imports of mechanical and electrical products and high-tech products have doubled. From January to August, Yichang imported 1.27 billion yuan of mechanical and electrical products, an increase of 163.8%, accounting for 39.2% of the city's total import value; imported 800 million yuan of high-tech products, an increase of 179.7%; in addition, imported consumer goods 280 million yuan, an increase of 16.3% ; Imported unwrought copper and copper products 200 million yuan, an increase of 67.6%.
